About the Church
The church was built in 1841 to serve the community of De Beauvoir Town which extends from Kingsland Road in the east to Southgate Road in the west and from Balls Pond Road in the north to the Regent's Canal in the south.

Today the lively congregation is a mix of people of all ages from all parts of the world.

Everyone comes together on Sundays at 10am for the Parish Eucharist. There is a thriving Sunday School with a crèche for the very young and an under 5s play area at the back of church.

Morning Prayer is said daily Monday-Friday at 8.30am. Night Prayer is said on Thursdays at 9pm.

Celebrating De Beauvoir Lives

Come along to Hackney Archives to share your records and memories!

Hackney Archives collects and cares for the archives of the London Borough of Hackney and and makes them available to the public for research. We are working with St. Peter’s Church, De Beauvoir, to collect personal documents and photographs which can be added to the Borough’s archives.

We are interested in documents relating to the life events, such as marriages, baptisms, civil partnerships or baby ceremonies, of people who live, or have lived in De Beauvoir Town.

If you think you have any records which we might be interested in, please bring them along and talk to staff at the Archives. If you don’t want to part with your photos and personal papers, don’t worry – we can always scan them instead.

There will be displays of items from the collections to help you find out more about the Borough’s archives, and staff will be on hand to answer your questions and give you advice on how to care for precious documents.

A display of this collection will be on show at St Peter’s Church from Sunday 7 September.
